Tips can be submitted online at tipsubmit.com, via text by sending a text message to “CRIMES” (274637) with the keyword 'darientips' from a mobile phone or through the TipSubmit mobile app. The tool allows users to submit photographs and videos in addition to tips for further details. This program can also be accessed on the department’s newly launched “smart website” at darienpolice.org

“We encourage Darien residents to use TipSoft to report information about any nonurgent illegal activity you know of,” said Darien Police Chief Duane Lovello.

That activity could include missing person cases, vandalism, theft, the sale and distribution of drugs and other nonemergency cases.

The adoption of TipSoft is part of the Darien Police Department’s effort to use new technology to connect and engage with Darien residents to build relationships and increase safety.
